Since the last couple of posts have been delayed, I usually aim to post on a Tuesday and Friday, but here’s a Saturday treat for you. Grab a cuppa, relax and enjoy!
One of the key trends for Autumn/Winter this year is texture… mixing and matching different textures will add a great dimension to your look.
Stella & Dot’s new capsule collection launched on Thursday (the full winter collection launches in October). Leather and Lace are the key trends for September and for the first time it features a jacket and it’s a beauty so let’s take a look at the collection in reverse order starting with lace and the amazing new jacket seems like a pretty great place to start.
The Danielle Lace Bomber Jacket is a gorgeous transitional piece that will work through Autumn/Winter. Black lace overlays a blush pink lining creating the perfect two tone jacket. Ribbed knit trims and rose gold accents add to the perfect casual look. Pair this with jeans and flats or ankle boots for a cool and casual outfit or style over a little black dress for something different.
Next up is the Taylor Lace Cape (as worn by Blythe on the right) I love this (partly because it’s my maiden name), but how amazing will this top look for all the nights out coming up through the Autumn/Winter season?! (My diary is already starting to fill up and I’m sure yours is too). This delicate black top with cape like sleeves and v-neckline comes with a camisole with adjustable straps to create the utmost coverage.
This top can take you from day to night. Again with this top, I would keep the jewellery simple. Either some statement earrings or some of our everyday essential earrings such as the Rhett Hoops or the Hammered Wire Hoops and finish the look with an arm party.
One final item on the lace apparel front we have the Juliana Lace Top which is a long sleeve top with a slightly puff sleeve at the cuff. The round neck lets the detail of the top do the talking. Style this with statement earrings and just add denim and you’re good to go.
On to the jewels and accessories…
Lace is very much a heritage design feature at Stella & Dot. Blythe Harris our designer has used lace from her grandmother’s collection to design our Chantilly Lace Cuff – gold and Chantilly Lace Cuff – Black and she has used a different piece of lace in the new Thea Lace Cuff which comes in a vintage silver finish. The perfect statement for any occasion. Why not pair with the matching Thea Lace Chandeliers to finish the look.
Next up it’s Leather… this is more my style… I like a leather wrap bracelet and bags… you can never have too many bags, especially when they’re versatile.
The Juliana Double Wrap Bracelet is the first thing on my list from this collection. Genuine perforated black leather reverses to beautiful rose gold metallic in this easy double wrap bracelet. The versatility will mean I can create so many arm parties with one bracelet. I can’t wait for this to arrive.
Finish the look with the Juliana Statement Studs. Genuine black and rose gold leather petals fold against sparkly accents in these statement studs.
My favourite bag now comes in another design. The Waverly Petite – Braided Black is a versatile crossbody bag now in an exclusive braided pattern! Converts from full length crossbody to a fold over clutch to ensure versatility for whatever outfit or occasion.
A new bag silhouette this year is the expandable hobo style. The Braided Zip Top Hobo comes in the same exclusive braided pattern with beautiful texture. Strap can be worn short for hobo and long for crossbody. Features side zipper detail to expand and contract with contrasting panel.
Finally, the Autumn/Winter capsule collection wouldn’t be complete without a new scarf…
I love a scarf, it’s my trademark. It’s often how people will introduce me ‘Gill with the scarf’. I mentioned this to a friend on Instagram the other day and she said it should be an insta handle, but since I already have two on the go @stylistgillc and @gilltheglasgowgirl, I didn’t need another one, so I started #gillwiththescarf
The Heritage Scarf is late to the party, so keep an eye on the website for when it’s in stock. This one of a kind heritage lace pattern with hues of navy and pink, based on Blythe’s grandmother’s lace collection. This accessory is the perfect scarf to add a pop of colour through the seasons. I don’t usually tend to choose pink, but navy and pink as a colour combination is a winner. This will go with so many outfits and carry through Autumn/Winter well.
If you love the collection and would like to have your own Style Session – a girly get together at home where we can chat about the trends for the season, try the jewels/accessories and shop from the comfort of your own home. If you’re in Glasgow and the surrounding areas, I have jewels, will travel. If you’re further afield, thanks to the wonder of Social Media, we could do an online style session. Just contact me through the Style Session link above for more information.
Hope you have a great weekend.
