    Weekend Vibes

At the start of this week, I didn’t have much planned for the weekend. I ended up having a really bad migraine Tuesday and Wednesday so was looking forward to having a quiet weekend but sometimes plans change! (Please note that links to skincare products are affiliate links, if you click through and shop, I will earn a small commission from any sales). Friends Reunited On Friday I got a message from a friend that was at uni in Aberdeen at the same time as me saying that her and her husband and kiddos were in Glasgow and wondered if I fancied a wee trip to ikea. She had told…

    What’s In A Name?

“What’s in a name? that which we call a rose. By any other name would smell as sweet.” – William Shakespeare, Romeo & Juliet. I don’t make a habit of quoting Shakespeare… but he was someone who knew the importance of a name. If you know me in real life, you might know names are something I’ve been thinking about a lot recently. Defined by a Name Our name is the very thing that defines us, it’s how we’re known by the world (I do have many a nickname from uni and acquired over the years by friends and work colleagues) but the most important name in many ways is…

    Brunch – Glasgow Style

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve actually written a blogpost. I guess the various lockdowns over the last 18 months or so meant not venturing anywhere very exciting (like most of us). I’ve not been feeling the most inspired or creative recently but hopefully now I’ll find joy in writing again. I’m not about to commit to a rhythm of two posts a week like before… but would love you to stick around and see where the blog goes over the next wee while. Let me know if there’s anything specific you would like to see me post about. Happy Saturday On Saturday, I had the best day catching…

    Creativity – Craft with Emma

If creativity is sharing our soul with the world, this year has definitely felt like one of the hardest (for obvious reasons with the Covid-19 pandemic) to find inspiration to create. I’ve had writer’s block which I suppose explains the lack of blog posts and even sporadic Instagram content. As passionate as I am about music, I’ve not felt like picking up my guitar for a while or like doing anything creative. I’ve been thinking a bit recently about creativity, particularly with us being back in lockdown. I think it’s time to get creative again in some way, whatever that looks like. Hopefully I’ll get back to a blogging routine.…

  • Autumn leaves with scrabble letters saying HOPE on top of them.

My friend Alanna tagged me in a Hallowtober post on Instagram where she did an IGTV with 13 questions and then tagged 13 people. The idea originally came from Jordane – Of A Glasgow Girl who suggested it was done as an insta post or blog post, so since I’m not one for talking on camera, here’s a wee blog post with my 13 questions. I’ll tag my 13 people over on Instagram. If you want to join in, copy and paste the 13 questions, delete question 13, move them all down and add in a new question 1. Hallowtober 13 Questions 1. Pumpkin Spice or Chai Tea Latte?   Having…

  • A tube saying Wonder Mask on top of it, a brush, a circular tin of Wonder Balm and a Rose Quartz Massager Bud sitting on top of two grey face cloths

All The New Things – The Clean Beauty Club

Apologies for the radio silence since July, there’s not been too much to write about… I had a trip to Cornwall in August to see the family which was great. I hand’t seen them since I was in Dubai at Christmas which seems like a lifetime ago now. While in Cornwall, I managed to get 2nd degree sunburn which wasn’t ideal. Thankfully it’s finally healed after an assortment of creams and lotions (E45, Nivea for dry skin etc), I was reminded to try Wonder Balm on it and that cleared the last of the dry skin up. If you’ve been following me on Instagram or Facebook, then you’ll probably know,…

Home Hair Colour – Josh Wood Colour

I was lucky enough to get my hair done the Thursday before lockdown so I wasn’t due for another appointment until June. Most of us are getting fed up of our hair and not being able to get to a hairdresser, so I went as long as I could without taking matters into my own hands but couldn’t cope with my greys/roots any longer. Around two and a half weeks ago, I sent a message to my hairdresser and asked her about my base colour so that I could attempt to touch up my roots at home. I looked into a few hair colour options, from past experience, I knew…

    Wardrobe Essentials: Summer Jackets

It’s been a while since my last post, inspiration has been lacking during lockdown, but here we are…. It might be the start of summer and although we’re still in lockdown, hopefully restrictions will continue to be relaxed in the planned phases and we can get out and about a bit more. It seemed like a good time to do a fashion post focusing on wardrobe essentials – summer jackets, since the Scottish weather tends to be unpredictable, a light jacket is usually required even in summer. I realised a summer jacket is something I’m lacking in my wardrobe. I have a warm winter coat, a camel coat, black blazer…

    Working From Home In Style

From 18th March, I’ve been working from home which is different. Although I blog and previously had my own Stella & Dot business, both of which require time working from home (or anywhere as long as I have a phone/laptop), it’s never been on a full time basis and there was always the option to go to a coffee shop and work there for a change of scenery. I’ve not spoken about the whole Coronavirus situation on my social media or the blog yet, not because I’m avoiding it or because it’s not scary at times but because after talking to a whole lot of people, many of us are…

    Perfume Masterclass

Last month I was invited along to a Ladies Love Fragrance – Perfume Masterclass by Gemma from Bloggers Who Brunch Scotland. The event took place at Ibis Styles, a hotel I don’t think I’ve been to before but it was an ideal location and setting. Please note – This post contains some gifted products. It was great to catch up with the girls over some fizz and nibbles before we got started. Alison MacColl from Ladies Love Fragrance, a qualified clinical aromatherapist gave us a short intro by telling us a little about herself and how the business works. She can offer events with the gorgeous Botanical Mood Bar, Perfume…
